Consent to Advertise Field
REALTORS® are permitted to advertise the sold price of a property if they obtain the consent of
the buyer and the seller for such advertisements.
Some REALTORS® have been obtaining this consent by adding clauses to their Agreements of Purchase and Sale, or by using a standalone form such as the OREA Form 170. However, ITSO’s system is not currently configured to send the sold prices of properties to public portals based on permissions set at the individual listing level 4.
In November, ITSO added a new Consent to Advertise flag that REALTORS® can select when reporting a Trade if they have obtained written consent from the buyer and seller to publicly advertise the
sale price.
If a listing has this flag selected, then the listing information will continue to be provided to REALTOR.ca after the property status is reported as pending sold. The listing will appear on REALTOR.ca as sold but no sale price will be displayed while the sale is pending. Once the listing has closed, then the sale price reported on these listings will also be provided to CREA for display on REALTOR.ca. ITSO will provide the pending status, closed status, and sale price to other website operators pulling from ITSO’s MLS® System, so those websites will have the option to configure their displays to report the sale price in a manner similar to REALTOR.ca. ITSO is currently working with CREA to change the upload to REALTOR.ca to allow the public display of the sold price. ITSO will communicate when this functionality will be available to all users.
UPDATE- January 10, 2024
Starting Tuesday, January 14, 2025, CREA will display the sold price and status changes on REALTOR.ca where the consent to advertise flag has been selected by the member.
Please note that it is not mandatory to use the field to advertise sold prices after a property is sold – it is simply mandatory to indicate yes or no to the field.
